Growing

If we aren't growing we are dying. I equate growing with learning... If I am not learning I might as well be dying. I try to learn something new everyday. I don't always succeed, but I experience things with the hope of learning.

Yesterday a friend and I spent time together talking and seeing new things. We visited some "local" art galleries and as a result I might have received some new insight to some things. That is learning, that is growing...

God expects us to grow in His grace to fully mature children of His.
"For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil." Hebrews 5:12-14
As far as I know, we do not know the write of the book of Hebrews. It was probably one of the disciples or followers that was a Hebrew of Hebrews... very Jewish before he met the Lord, becoming a Christian. I think at times it might be one of Jesus' brothers (like James), who thought He (Jesus) was crazy until after His death on the cross. Anyway, this writer puts this learning and growth in God's grace in perspective.

The writer says.... you should be teachers by now! Not wanting others to teach you, but you only wanting the milk, instead of the meat and solid food needed to be productive in christian life. If you stay babies you don't have to work. God wants us to grow, to be fed with the solid food of His word, so we can teach and spread His word.

There really isn't anything else to say about this word.... so remember if you aren't growing you are dying.... if you aren't learning you are dying! Learn something new everyday and make sure you give God the glory for all He has to teach you!

Thanks for reading! God Bless You All!
