Yummy

I am sure we all know what this word means.... And yes I am going to use it in the light of God's word...
"Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!" Psalm 34:8
Have you ever been remembering something from your childhood, it made you feel as though you could smell the same smells and taste the same good foods? I think it should be the same way with our thoughts of God and the good he has brought us. Those good memories of childhood, God gave you because he allow you to live them, the Food he gives you daily, the friends you share coffee with, His word you are able to study and enjoy, all these should leave a good taste in your mouth so that you can reflect on it later and remember those things. Does this make sense?
"Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, Moses did not give you the bread from heaven, but My Father gives you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.” John 6:32-33
In the wilderness, God provided food for Israel, in the form of heavenly bread called Manna. The people complained about it and wanted other things along the way to eat. God provided that also. They were never satisfied, because they were not seeing it as the food God wanted them to see it as. Spiritual provision, from a loving and caring God. One who would supply all their needs according to His riches, which by the way are all the cattle on a thousand hills and then some. They could not wrap their minds around this fact, that the one true God could be all they would ever need.

Needless to say, we don't always either. God sent the true bread of life and the only true vine to earth, to be broken and poured out for us. Yet, in our busy lives we forget to stop and enjoy the goodness of those things. It is good to remember Christ when you take communion, some churches provide that everyday, some once a week, some once a month... I think you get the idea, but I think God wants use to remember Christ and His "Yummy-ness" every day, at least once, maybe at every meal... whenever you can. Now, I know someone may have taken offense at my use of the word yummy there, but in light of the verse from Psalms above it fits doesn't it... "taste and see that the LORD is good!!! Wasn't what Jesus did for you and I good? Wasn't it tasty?

God provides for our daily physical needs, He is good. God provided for our eternal spiritual need through Christ's sacrifice, He is good. He is providing for our eternal life, He is good. So, if yummy is to food like good is to God then, God is yummy! I know many of you still think less of me for this but, I have to go with what I believe... and right now God is Yummy!

Thanks for reading. God Bless You All!
